How to Hang Your Picture
Hanging a work of art is not complicated, but it is a specialized task that can challenge even an expert. To accomplish the job yourself, you should work with a willing helper and follow the detailed instructions. We strongly recommend using picture hooks rather than nails to guard against the possibility that a painting will accidentally be knocked off the wall.

Determine exactly where you wish to hang your artwork and locate a stud in the wall.

Using your index fingers, hold the framed art by the picture wire, approximately 12" apart. Have your assistant measure the distance from your fingers to the top of the frame. Write down this measurement.

Hold the framed image against the wall at the proper height and measure the distance between the top of the frame and your ceiling. Write down this measurement.

Add the two measurements obtained above to determine the total vertical distance between the ceiling and the position of your picture hooks.

Determine where you want the center of the width of your framed piece to be on the wall. Place a small mark on the wall using that center point and the measurement from step 4.

From this point, measure 6" out on each side of the mark to determine where each hook should be placed. Use a carpenter’s level to ensure that the hooks are level.

Hang your picture, making sure that the wire catches on both hooks. Use a carpenter’s level to ensure that the picture is level.

Canvas Owners Guide

Proper Care of Your Canvas Lithograph*
Taking proper care of your can vas will ensure that it will be with you for years to come.

Most importantly, DO NOT hang your canvas in direct sunlight. Although it has been coated with a special ultra-violet light protectant, direct sunlight over a long period of time may fade the image.

DO NOT display your canvas in an environment with high humidity, as mold can grow on the back of the canvas.

If hanging your painting above a working fireplace, be sure to allow for adequate ventilation as smoke and heat may damage the image over time.

To remove dust from the front of your canvas, use a soft rag with warm water. DO NOT use a solvent!*

Under normal conditions, stretched canvas may loosen over time. If the canvas should become loose, apply a small amount of hot water to the BACK of the canvas with a soft rag or spray bottle. As the canvas dries, it will tighten back up.*

*IMPORTANT
Please note these guidelines refer to Canvas Lithographs only and are not appropriate care for RE and SP Atelier editions nor Giclee edition
