| Dave Barnhouse grew up as a country boy in rural Ohio and spent most of his childhood in the area's one-room schoolhouse or playing outside with the farm animals he "adopted" as pets. He is a self-taught artist working mainly with oils and focusing on Americana subjects. His paintings have a warm touch of nostalgia. "I want to make people feel as if they are back home on a Friday evening and can actually feel the warmth of a cozy fire and smell the homemade bread and cookies coming from the oven," says Barnhouse. "I want the nostalgic warm feeling of good times and close family and friends to come through." |
