When you look into a rose, the swirling vortex of petals sweeps you into the center of the flower while the outer petals open and appear to dissolve into space. Roses sometimes make me think of the passage in Alice in Wonderland where Alice falls into Wonderland down a long and seemingly bottomless tunnel. Make of it what you will, this rose is an invitation to dream and to luxuriate in the presence of infinite possibilities. |
