Our "extended family" played such an important role in my childhood. Grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins formed a circle of support that made growing up quite easy . . . but created its own set of challenges as well. Getting past that first round of holiday hugs and kisses took careful back seat planning on the way "To Grandmother's House".
