of America's most popular artists, Dave Barnhouse re-creates the best of
times in his depictions of small town America. Celebrations of rural
family life as portrayed in these prints convey the comradely central to
those who share common interests. In "From One Generation to
Another," granddad, his son and grandson share a love for
Harley-Davidsons. Perhaps, we imagine, they discuss the relative merits of
the classic 1937 UL Flathead and the shinier 1957 XL Sportster. The older
man can now tinker on his motorcycle whenever he likes and takes special
pride in encouraging his grandson. "Collectors tell me they put themselves into my art," the artists relates. "It's a way to relive some of the happiest moments of our youth." |
